David S. Barton

David is Cubmaster, co-Webelos Leader and co-Den Leader in Pack 658, Scoutmaster of Troop 658, Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 295, Assistant Advisor and founding member of Crew 405 in Orange Frontier District. He is also Committee Member of Troop 1 in Pacifica District and Campmaster at Oso Lake. Previously, he served as Assistant Scoutmaster of both Troop 658 and Troop 1. He completed Wood Badge training in 2013 and was on staff in four subsequent years.

As a youth he completed National Youth Leadership Training and was on staff four times as an adult and will be Assistant Course Director in 2019. He also attended Area 4, Course Director Conference. David earned the Eagle Scout rank with 12 palms in 1980. He is the second Scout in United States to have earned all merit badges. As a youth, representing OCC, he presented awards to Marion Knott, Carl Karcher, Rod Carew, and Ray Malavasi. He accepted a job offer from Marion Knott in his Senior Year of High School. He was recognized with the District Award of Merit in 2015, is a James E. West Society member, and a NESA life member.

In addition to Scouting, David is active in the Cottonwood Church, Los Alamitos Counsel PTA as auditor, and was personnel commissioner for the City of Huntington Beach for 8.5 years. David lives in Huntington Beach with his wife Tammy and two sons, Hunter, an Eagle Scout, and Spencer, a Life Scout.
