Michael Markowski

Michael serves as District Vice Chair and Assistant Commissioner of Portola District and Assistant Council Commissioner. Previously, he has served as Advisor to Venturing Crew 785 and Committee Chair of Troop 785 in Portola District and Chartered Organization Representative to Troop 895 in Inland Empire Council. He received the District Award of Merit in 2012, the Council Commissioner of the Year in 2015 plus the Distinguished Commissioner Service Award in 2017.
At the dawn of the internet, Michael developed and deployed an online registration program for California State University - Long Beach, becoming the first CSU campus to use this innovative system, just as computer technology was bursting forth. In addition to Scouting, Michael volunteers in the Adult Leadership Group of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He has also volunteered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Red Cross, California State University - Long Beach, El Potrero Elementary School, and the Blood Bank of Riverside County. Michael has made several trips to Cambodia to work with under privileged children and adults, sharing with them the skills gained from FEMA and the Red Cross.
Michael lives in Anaheim with his wife Susan. They have five sons Matthew (Eagle), Michael, Jr. (Eagle), Jeffrey (Eagle), Thomas (Life), and James (Life).
