Sara Bowie

Sara is Committee Chair of Venturing Crew 1701, Venturing District STEM Chair, and a member of the OCC's STEM committee. Previously, she has served as Committee Member of Pack 453 and Troop 531, Advisor of Crew 531, and Associate Advisor of Crew F105, OCC's co-ed contingent to the 2013 National Jamboree. Her daughter, Alice, member of Crew F105, became one of the first female youth participants at a BSA National Jamboree.
Sara described it as an incredible experience that she and her daughter happily shared with their husband, son, father, and brother. Sara completed Wood Badge training in 2012 and was on staff in 2014, plus completing Powder Horn training. She was presented with the District Award of Merit in 2013. Sara has volunteered as Girl Scout Leader and with the El Modena HS and La Veta Elementary School PTAs. She was presented with the National PTA Honorary Service Award at both schools. Sara is a founding member of a competitive high school robotics team, first at El Modena and now with Crew 1701. She volunteers as costumer for Top Hat 8 Repertory in Tustin.
Sara lives in Orange with her husband Mark. Their son, Malcolm is an Eagle Scout. Their daughter Alice, was a Girl Scout, and member of Crew 531 and Jamboree Crew F105.
