Douglas Gahn

Douglas presently serves as Chair of Pacifica District, in addition to being Chartered Organization Representative for Troops 1134 and 558. As a youth, he achieved the rank of Life Scout in Troop 608 in Upland, CA, where he developed his love for hiking, camping, and backpacking. When his son joined Troop 1226, he became Assistant Scoutmaster and led yearly treks into the Sierras, including the entire John Muir Trail, plus leading several treks to Philmont Scout Ranch. He has summited all fifteen 14,000 foot peaks in California including the 14,495-foot Mt. Whitney, Mt. Shasta and the White Mountain.
In 2015 Douglas was presented with the District Award of Merit. In addition to Scouting, he is a Board Member and Past President of the Huntington Beach Rotary Club and contributor for the Sweet Charity Ball, Surfboards on Parade, and Science Showtime. The latter is an elementary school STEM program in conjunction with Golden West College. For several years, Douglas was board member, coordinator, and medical participant with the Flying Samaritans, a group that sends medical teams to Baja California to provide free care to children and their families.
He lives in Huntington Beach with his wife Nancy. Their daughter Stephanie earned the Girl Scout Gold Award in 2007 and their son Brian earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009.
