George Lang

George presently serves as Assistant Scoutmaster and Eagle Advisor in Troop 319, Assistant Cubmaster of Pack 557, and on Pacifica District's training staff and Eagle Board. Much of his life has been devoted to sailing the deep blue sea. He is retired after 35 years as a US Coast Guard licensed private yacht captain.

George has operated charter boats between New York and the Caribbean, Alaska and Acapulco, from Baja California through the Panama Canal to the Mediterranean, and of course to Catalina Island. Capitalizing on his sea going experience, George volunteers at the Newport Sea Base as pontoon boat captain and liaison with the boat donation program. Previously, he was an active member of the California State University-Long Beach's sailing club. George is a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran receiving two purple hearts and a Bronze Star.

George lives in Huntington Beach with his wife Diana. They have two adult children Kurt and Karl, both Eagle Scouts. Karl is presently in Florida working on a mega yacht.
