Allen Barr

Allen presently serves as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 787 in Saddleback District and as Scoutmaster of the Orange County Council's National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). He has been involved with NYLT since 2002 and was Course Director for three courses.

To prepare himself for the NYLT positions, he has participated in several Area 4 (CA, AZ, & NV) training events for Course Directors. Previously, he has served as Committee Chair of Troop 787 and on the Saddleback District Committee. He completed Wood Badge in 2006 and was on staff in 2011 as Troop Guide and 2014 as Scribe. In 2009, he was presented with the District Award of Merit plus he has been presented with twenty-one Eagle Scout mentor pins.

In 2008, Allen visited the World Scout Jamboree in England where his son Erik was a participant. They had their picture taken together under the Gilwell Oak Tree. In addition to Scouting, Allen has served the American Rabbit Breeders Association for over 49 years and is a recognized national judge of rabbits and guinea pigs. Allen lives in Mission Viejo. Both of his adult sons obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, Michael in 2004 and Erik in 2008.
