Dan presently serves as Vice Chairman-Technology of Orange County Council, Chairman of the Council's NESA Committee and El Camino Real District Eagle Alumni Event Chair. Previously he served as Treasurer and Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 724. Highlights of Troop 724's activities on which he coordinated and participated include a Yosemite backpacking trip (only one bear) and two Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness treks from the BSA Northern Tier High Adventure Base in Ely, Minnesota.
He completed his first canoe trek with Nick, his middle son. With a little friendly persuasion from his wife, he decided to organize a second trek with Nick and his youngest son, Ian. Each trek was approximately 75 miles long covering six days on the water. Part of the adventure in the Boundary Waters is numerous portages per day that need to be made in the land of 10,000 lakes. Even short portages can seem long when carrying a canoe over your head. Dan earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1972 as a member of Troop 337, Whittier, CA and is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA).
Dan lives in Dana Point with his wife Sharon. They have three Eagle Scout sons, Christopher, Nicholas, and Ian.
