Greg Arnold
2014
Greg presently serves as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 93 in Los Amigos District and on the High Adventure Team (HAT). As a Basic Backpack Course presenter, Greg leads participants on training hikes.
In March of 2014, Greg and a trainee group where on the way to hike in the Mt. Baldy area. They came across an automobile accident that had just happened. A vehicle had driven off a mountain road, crashing into a ravine and starting a brush fire. Emergency services had not arrived, so Greg verified that one of the hike participants was on the phone with 911, grabbed his first aid kit, and proceeded into the ravine to render aid to the victim until emergency services arrived. He stayed on scene to assist the paramedics while the fire department helicopter made water drops to control the brush fire. Greg and two other bystanders helped to carry the victim to the helicopter for transportation to the hospital. Needless to say this added some unexpected experience to an otherwise routine day hike but put into practice the Scout Motto "Be Prepared".
Greg lives in Brea with his wife Elizabeth. They have two children, Garrett, an Eagle Scout and Gabrielle, a former Sea Scout and Venture Scout.
