James Webber

Jim presently serves Portola District as Vice-Chair of Membership.
Previously, he has served as District Chair of Portola District,
Chair of the Friends of Scouting, led training sessions at the University
of Scouting, was Committee Chair, Den Leader, and Webelos Den Leader of
Pack 580, and has participated in numerous conferences at the Philmont
Training Center. He also served as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 278
in Pacifica District in the former Orange Empire Area Council (OEAC).
Jim completed Wood Badge Training in 2010. He was honored with the District
Award of Merit in 2011, the Philmont Master Track Award, and is a James E. West Fellow.
As a youth, Jim camped at Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley with his troop in
1964-1966 and was on staff in 1966. He earned the Eagle Rank and represented OEAC at
the World Jamboree at Farragut Park, Idaho in 1967.
In addition to Scouting, Jim has volunteered with the YMCA as Nation
Chief and active fundraiser, as band and orchestra parent/volunteer and as a
School Art docent. Jim's grown daughter, Misty, lives in Arizona and he
lives in Yorba Linda with his wife Catherine and two current Life Scouts, John and Chris.
