Lawrence Voelz

Larry presently serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 675 in Rancho Del Mar District. He is also Chartered Organization Representative for Pack 694 as well as Troop 675. Previously, he was Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Den leader in Pack 653.

At the district level, Larry has chaired a very successful Friends of Scouting Campaign and a Webelos Transition Fair for the past five years. In 2005 and 2010, he was on the National Jamboree Staff as a SCUBA/Snorkeling instructor. He was presented with the District Award of Merit in 2009.

In addition to scouting, Larry has been an active member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church for the past 32 years holding the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Board for Fellowship, Board for Stewardship, Board for Youth, and Elder. He is currently President of the Church Council. When his children were young, he volunteered with the YMCA Indian Princesses and Indian Guides serving as Tribal Chief and Nation Chief in both organizations. Larry earned the Eagle Scout rank in January of 1968 as a member of Troop 61 in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Larry lives in Irvine with his wife Julie. They have two daughters, Jennell & Erica, and one son, Ryan, an Eagle Scout.
