Ron Cocchi
2012
Ron presently serves on the Orange County Council Board of Directors
and as Chairman of the Orange Frontier District for the third year.
He also serves as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 658 and Committee
Chair and co-founder of the District Venturing Crew 398.
Previously, he has served as Tiger Coach, Den Leader, and Webelos
Den Leader of Pack 116 and Scoutmaster of Troop 658. He has completed
the Leader Specific Training for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, BALOO, Wood
Badge and Backpack Awareness Training.
Since 2003, he has served on the Orange Frontier District Committee in
various capacities, including being Camporee Chairman in 2010 and Events
Chairman for the 100th OCC encampment at Prado Dam. Ron has served on staff
for two Wood Badge training events. He was presented with the Scoutmaster
Award of Merit and the District Award of Merit in 2010.
Outside of Boy Scouting,
he supported his wife and daughter in Girl Scouts and has been a certified AYSO
soccer Line Referee and Center Referee. He holds a PhD from USC and is a partner
and founder in a high-security technology company, SMI. Ron lives in Seal Beach
with his wife Maureen and attends St. Hedwig Church. They have two children,
Franklin, an Eagle Scout and Justine, a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient.
