Valerie Spingola

Valerie presently serves on the Pacifica District Committee as Popcorn Kernel, Camperall Co-Chair, and Course Director for the Council’s Trainer’s EDGE. She has participated on staffs for Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, and Outdoor Webelos Leader Skills. She is a Leave No Trace Trainer, is High Adventure Trained, and completed Wood Badge Training in 2014 and was subsequently on staff in 2017. Valerie received the District Award of Merit in 2017.

In addition to Scouting, Valerie is the Huntington Beach area leader for Cookies for A Cop and Our Fire Friends. Over the past four years, this national organization has distributed over 500,000 cookies to Police and Fire Departments as a thank you for their efforts. She also mentors young adults with the Rainmaker Effect, empowering youth with the skills, knowledge, and tools to become servant leaders.

Valerie is a current Community Emergency Response Team member with the Huntington Beach Fire Department and attended the 12-week Citizen’s Academy with the Huntington Beach Police Department. For the past several years she has volunteered with the city’s Fourth of July parade. She also volunteers with the Guinea Pig rescue Cavy Haven. Whatever project she is involved with, Valerie brings innovation and expertise to its successful conclusion. Valerie is excited to start her new role as a Unit Commissioner with one of the first all-girl Troops in her district. Valerie lives in Huntington Beach with her husband, Gregg, and teenage son Matthew.
