Jim Shoffit

Jim serves as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 241, an Advisor to OA's Koshare Chapter, Religious Emblems Coordinator, Activities Chair, Unit Commissioner, Camporee Staff, and Scouting for Food Chairman in Canyons District. As Chairman, he organized the Scouting for Food Kickoff at the Orange City Hall, featuring the city's Mayor and officials from the Girl Scouts, Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Boy Scouts.

As coordinator of his Troop's backpacking expeditions, Jim has led three treks to the 14,494-foot summit of Mt. Whitney, twice to the depths of Havasu Falls where it empties into the Colorado River, and once to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. He is anticipating completing his 19th snowshoe backpacking trek in San Jacinto State Park this winter. In addition to Scouting, Jim volunteers as a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and is on the Field Marshall Staff for the Goodwill/Faley Special Games hosted by California State University-Fullerton for developmentally disabled students. He also volunteers with the U. S. Forest Service in Big Bear Lake.

Jim lives with his wife Julie, in Orange. Their son Matthew is an Eagle Scout and their daughter Amy earned the Girl Scout Silver Award.
