David Schmid

David presently serves on the Orange County Council Executive Board as Council Camping Chairman and is Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 33 in Canyons District, the troop of his youth. He is also Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop B306 destined for the National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in 2013. Previously, he served four years as Webelos Den Leader in Pack 51.

As President of ECCO Equipment, David has donated heavy equipment for various OCC projects, including construction of the IROEC and lake renovations at Lost Valley. In 2012 David completed Wood Badge.

In addition to Scouting, he has served as an elder in his church, a trustee for the non-profit Olive Crest, and volunteered in Indian Guides, where he served one term as Tribal Chief and two terms as Nation Chief. David also is a director and VP of the Waltmar Foundation, a non-profit founded by his grandparents that financially supports OCC-BSA and many other Orange County organizations. As a youth, David was in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, achieving the Eagle Scout rank in 1981. David lives in Santa Ana with his wife Jennifer. They have three sons: Daniel (Life Scout), William (Star Scout), and Andrew (Second Class Scout)
